February 28th, 2011

Been a while since I've made an entry, so here we go.

At the moment there is chaos in the Middle East.  The Lybian "dictator" Kadafi is slaughtering his own citizens with his military, and is threatening to destroy all oil wells in Lybia.  This would reduce the world's total oil supplies by 2%, and Saudi Arabia has already pledged to boost production to compensate for any losses from Lybia's lack of production.

However, tremendous fear and speculations on oil futures has driven the price higher and higher as this story has been sensationalized to death.

Most stocks are topping out on the weekly, getting ready to head down going into March.  Of course, this excludes oil companies, which appear to have no ceiling at the moment... especially if oil prices continue to go through the roof.

I had a revelation today... one of those "light bulb goes on in head" moments... it's true, it really is an "art" thing, not a "chart" thing.  I finally see what that is, but I have no way of actually expressing it in terms of written language.  My last job got me thinking too much in terms of an engineer - everything is exact, 1+1 always equals 2, and "being an artist" is for fools.
